Terms and Conditions

These terms & conditions apply to all orders placed at WineWeb Wine Club.

Please note the importance of reading our purchasing terms and conditions carefully. Under South African law they affect your consumer rights and liabilities. By accepting these terms and conditions you indicate that you agree to them and therefore may purchase products from WineWeb Wine Club.

ORDER PROCESSING

The status of your order will be confirmed via email. We do not sell wine to anyone under the age of 18. We do not process orders from the US for individuals under the age of 21.

All wine prices quoted now include VAT. Wine purchases for international delivery will not be charged VAT. The price of the items excludes the delivery charge which will be calculated during checkout.

Errors and Omissions Excluded.

AVAILABILITY

We will endeavour to source the wine and vintage you are looking for, however this will be subject to availability. Sometimes we may be out of stock of certain wines. Should this happen we will contact you to suggest an alternative wine at the same price. If you do not wish to go with our alternative suggestion we will be able to ship the available stock whilst ensuring you are only charged for the available wine that you have ordered.

Subject to availability and receipt of payment, the order will be delivered to the address confirmed by you upon checkout.

DELIVERY

All deliveries within South Africa are by Courier and direct to your door. When your order is delivered a signature must be obtained from an adult older than 18 years. Should you not be available to take receipt of your package a note will be left requiring you to contact the Courier office to make arrangements to deliver the package at a suitable time.

Important notice: Any Special Delivery Instructions requesting the courier to leave the package in a specific location effectively gives them permission to deliver the package without a signature.

Please report any Breakages or Shortages to WineWeb Wine Club within 24 hours, preferably by email and quoting your receipt number.

Insurance: Goods are only insured up to the point of delivery: Until a signature is obtained or wherever the goods are left as per your special delivery instructions.

Important information:


  • Costs include: Insurance, VAT, fuel levies & special packaging to ensure safe delivery

  • Parcels are delivered to the door of the recipient

  • Overnight service is available on request, please contact us for a quotation

  • Please note that during Christmas & Easter season times, delays can be experienced due to increased freight volumes & public holidays

  • Indicate postal codes with delivery address.

  • All parcels are packaged into specially manufactured cardboard boxes for safe travel.

  • Wines cannot be delivered to Post Box numbers

International Shipping

Customs

Please note that all international deliveries are subject to the import and custom laws, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. WineWeb Wine Club can not be held responsible if a parcel or item is detained or confiscated due to these laws. Additionally, when ordering from WineWeb Wine Club, you are considered the importer of wine and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

Due to strict importation laws, we are unable to service the following states with door to door courier, unless the recipient has a valid import license: Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Florida , Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, North Hampshire, Tennessee.

Generally, customs forms for international packages will list the value of your order's contents by product type. It is essential to specify the correct value of the wines for customs. Customs in receiving countries are sensitive to the correct wine values, and there are many sources for them to confirm these costs.

If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the item is still stated on the customs form. Customs authorities require us to state the value of the gift item directly on the package.

RETURNS POLICY

Your Customer satisfaction is our main priority. If you buy wine from us and for any reason you are dissatisfied with the quality of the product, WineWeb Wine Club will endeavour to refund or replace the wine. Please ensure you contact us within 14 days of receipt of your order to notify us, otherwise you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.

If you have not received the correct order without any prior notification from us, we will be happy to exchange your wine or refund the original amount charged, provided the wine is returned to WineWeb Wine Club in its original condition.

If we are not able to source the vintage you requested, we will be able to exchange it for an alternative vintage or refund you if this is not acceptable to you.

If an order is returned or cancelled - the shipping charges incurred when returning it to WineWeb Wine Club must be absorbed by yourself. However if the wine is found to be faulty, WineWeb Wine Club will pay the shipment charges.

Please note that we are not in a position to exchange or refund any wines which are not to your personal preference. You are welcome to contact us should you require advice on wine selection prior to your purchase of wine.

PRIVACY

We understand the importance of privacy and security. We are committed to protecting the information we collect from you and guarantee that it will only be used for purposes of processing your order and providing you with services you request from us. Under no circumstances will your personal data be made available to any organization or third party. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). Our PROATIA manual may be downloaded here.

CREDIT CARD ACQUIRING AND SECURITY

We value your trust and thus make every effort and use the highest security standards to ensure that we protect your personal data from unauthorised access.
Your order, personal data and your credit card details are protected by technical security systems and an additional authorisation process - both when transferring data and saving data on our servers.

Credit card transactions will be acquired for WineWeb Wine Club by PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for Standard Bank of South Africa. PayGate use SSL3 and no credit card details are stored on the WineWeb Wine Club website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy. The encryption standards used by Paygate comply with international standards. In order to secure online transactions Encryption is used to protect the transmission of personal information. PayGate ensures that its Internet servers are protected by firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Security concerns? It is natural for those new to electronic commerce to be concerned about security of personal and credit card details. We would like to assure you that an Internet commerce transaction is significantly more secure than if you were to hand your card over a counter in a shop.

PAYMENT OPTIONS ACCEPTED

Payment may be made via Visa, Master Card, Diners or American Express credit cards.

We also offer alternative payment options that include Bank transfer, POLi (Pay online from your bank) and FNB Cell Pay Point. Please visit our FAQ section for more detail on these options.

CUSTOMER DETAILS SEPARATE FROM CARD DETAILS

Customer details will be stored by WineWeb Wine Club separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za.

MERCHANT OUTLET COUNTRY AND TRANSACTION CURRENCY

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is ZAR (South African Rand).

RESPONSIBILITY

WineWeb Wine Club takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

COUNTRY OF DOMICILE

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and WineWeb Wine Club chooses it as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature, the terms and conditions will not be affected and will therefore remain valid and enforceable by South African law.

VARIATION

WineWeb Wine Club may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
